The most famous member of the 1938 Brooklyn Dodgers to wear this style hat was Babe Ruth. Ruth was a coach for the Dodgers from June 19, 1938 until the end of the season. The glove in the painting belonged to Willie Davis, a Los Angeles’ Dodgers centerfielder from 1960 to 1973. Willie gave me his glove, after getting a new one, when he was playing for the Spokane Indians and I was the bat boy. I still have the glove.
