We boarded a tour boat in Melk, Austria and floated down the Danube River for several hours on a beautiful sunny September day. We got off the boat in Krems, Austria. Like many small towns we visited in Austria and Switzerland, Krems had several churches, small beautifully maintained homes and historic architecture.
Our trip to France in the fall of 2014 took us to Cassis, a town on the Mediterranean Sea just east of Marseille.

Lake Bled is a tourist destination in Northern Slovenia, formerly a part of Yugoslavia. The church on the left sits on an island in the middle of the lake. Visitors are rowed to the island where you can walk and explore on your own.
